Summary: Great, when its working.... 2009-09-01
Comment: Received as a Christmas gift. Worked great for a few months, then it went up in smoke (literally). The removable part (with the dials, electronics and lights) started burning up, with a little smoke. I called in to TeFal and they had me send in just that back-element piece. About eight weeks later, I received a replacement fryer...the whole thing....new in box. This replacement worked great for a few months and now will not heat the oil. It seems to be the dials again. Not burning up or smoking this time, but it just will not heat the oil any longer. I called TeFal again and they are having me send the element in again, so I guess I'm out a fryer for another eight weeks. Hope the new replacement lasts!

Comment: My family owned a restaurant and really missed some of our favorite appetizers. The temperature control and speed of unit makes it very easy to have the control we had with a large commercial unit.

Summary: Customer service is a JOKE!!!!! 2009-02-08
Comment: I received this product as a gift. When I went to use it, it did not work. AT ALL!!!! I sent T-fal an email on 1/6/09 and they said I would hear a response in 2 days. After a week, I sent another email and didn't hear anything. So, 13 days later I received an email saying that they'd send me packaging information to send the product back. NO surprise I didn't receive anything. I sent another email and complaint and still haven't received anything. I thought T-fal was a reputable company, but if you ever have a problem you can forget about getting a response. I now have a non-working deep fryer and a company who won't resolve the problem.
