Sensio 13401 Bella Cucina 3-1/2-Liter Stainless-Steel Deep Fryer

I received this deep fat fryer by Bella Cucina for XMAS 09 and was extremely pleased. The first batch of fries were delicious. However on the 2nd day, halfway through the breaded and spiced chicken it quit. The lights went out on the fryer, no reset to push in etc, etc. There is not much I can't fix and without a receipt I couldn't return it. I took the plastic lid off the electrical portion and discovered that the little plastic safety knob was loose and the fryer wouldn't turn on as a result. If I depressed that the fryer turned on. But due to poor design or manufacturing it was a wonder that the fryer ever turned on. I haven't been able to repair it. My wife said buy another brand and leave it at that.
I dislike the promise being unfulfilled, but that's reality. Buy another brand. Amazon sells this one for 39.95. The one I had came from Macy's.

This brand has proven to be the worst small appliance purchase I have ever made. The minute I took it out of the box I could see it would not be a very long lived or sturdy product. It is made of very thin stainless steel, not much thicker than a soda can if you ask me, and when put together is not very study. Chintzy comes to mind. Made one batch of chicken pieces and it shut off, had to resort back to the fryer pan. It was a gift for Christmas, I don't do many fried foods in the winter, mostly spring and summer. So out of luck on returning it. It doesn't hold near as much food as it claims and would not have been sufficient for my family of 5 kids, fit more in my larger fryer than in that frst and only batch of chicken pieces.

This unit worked great for 4 months. Yesterday I plugged it in and nothing. It seems that the magnetic electric cord is no longer making the proper connection. Bummer!
