Comment: Please beware that the Rival CZF630 has a life expectancy of just over one year. I just got off the phone with a gentleman at Rival who would not warranty the product due to its age. By the way, I found out my unit was over 2 years old sent from Amazon Prime. All that I was given as a remedy was 25% off another piece of junk. Poor customer service again where the customer gets screwed.

Comment: We have had this fryer for a couple years and I always noticed food comes out a little greasy if you fill the basket to a normal level. The reaason is this fryer does not get hot enough. If I set it to 375 and wait 15 minutes, then check the temp of the oil, it's 325. Would never buy again.

Comment: Fryer seems to work great. First one i got burned out after a few uses but they replaced it right away and the new one is working fine.

Comment: On the whole, this is a great little fryer. It heats up quickly, cooks well, and cleanup is a snap! The dual filter system does a great job of keeping the smoke and smell to a minimum. I like the way the handle is designed to raise and lower the basket while the lid is closed, which eliminates the issues of splatters and burns.

My only major complaint is the on/off/timer dial. To turn it on you have to turn the dial all the way to the left, but to set the timer once you drop the basket, you have to turn the same dial back to the right, which turns the unit off for a second, makes the timer bell ring, and then turns it back on. The timer dial is not very accurate unless you are using it in increments of 5 minutes -- anything less than 5 minutes and the timer bell does not ring when the food is done. It should have a separate On button, and a more sensitive timer.

Two other important facts to note -- there are 2 filters in the lid of the unit that need to be replaced regularly. I have not done any local research yet on the availability of these filters, but the owner's manual gives a list price of $7.99 (plus a $6 shipping fee!!) to order directly from them; also, the cord is less than 2 feet long, and you can't use an extension cord with it, so placement of the unit is limited.

Comment: I ordered this deep fryer and it seemed like it would be great. I especially liked the fact that you could wash it. We got it home, used it the 1st time and it worked great. The next time I went to use it, nothing.....it would not heat up at all. Amazon.com was great and sent me out a new one right away without it costing me a penny. So, we set up the second one and the extact same problem happened again! One time use, then nothing!!! Amazon.com was great once again and refunded my money and paid for the return shipping. I would not suggest that anyone buy this fryer!!!!
