NOTE: do not submerge the unit in water to clean it!! Unfortunatley my daughter didn't know this. I will certainly replace the fryer with an identical one. We were frying chicken and french fries constantly with perfect results everytime. It has a timer, temp control, and magnetic plug in for safety. The inside is non-stick for easy cleaning, although if I were designing it I would have made the lid removable for easier cleaning. Also has a filter in the lid to help with odor control. Buy with confidence and enjoy! 18 of 18 people found the following review helpful: By surprise "me" (808) - See all my reviews This review is from: Rival CF160 Cool Touch Deep Fryer (Kitchen) You can't go wrong w/the price. This is my 1st deep fryer and I am impressed so far. It's small and great if you're NOT frying for a big family.Manual recommends you defrost before you fry so i nuked it to defrost some but not all the way.I filled the wing it w/peanut oil in between the max and min line.I fried some grocery freezer brand battered fish and fries and they came out really yummy at 350 for 10 minutes.I haven't tried if frying it at 375 will be better or worse. After the timer went off,I lifted the handle to lift basket and drain excess oil for like a minute and dumped it on a plate w/paper towels to soak any oil.Anyway,my lunch turned out to be golden in color and crispy. This was w/a full basket of 3 pieces of battered fish and 6 texas crisper fries from ore ida(yah, small basket).
The only thing I DON'T LIKE is that it doesn't have a removable bowl for an easy clean up.The filter so far is doing it's job and my house doesn't smell like whatever I'm frying.I'm sure if...Read more 6 of 6 people found the following review helpful: By The immersion basket is really hard to clean well tho. Soaking it in hot soapy water helps. We have been making wings for years in the oven and also on the grill. These were the closest to original restaurant style. Enjoy! |
