Its adjustable thermostat ranges from 250 to 375 degrees F, and its bright red indicator light signals when the oil has reached the desired temperature so food cooks no longer than necessary. A viewing window lets you track progress without opening the cover, and an included wire basket with an exterior handle means you can prevent spatters by lowering food into hot oil with the lid down. Summary: Exactly what I wanted 2008-10-14
Comment: This was exactly what I was looking for when searching for fryers. It's pretty big, however the basket is quite shallow. Still, it can fry a decent amount of food at once. I like that I can close it when I put the food it because thats usually when it would pop oil out. I like that it has a temperature gauge, as well. I can cook the food as instructed instead of guessing. Overall, I would definitely recommend it. Just be careful who you order it from because it took almost 2 weeks to get mine!

Comment: We have used our fryer multiple times with no problems. Everything comes out really great (lots better than from a pan on the stove). I have no complaints and am very happy with this fryer.

Comment: Works exactly as advertised, have had no problems. Fairly easy to setup. Easy to clean up compared to frying in an open skillet and having to clean the entire work space. Actually, very little needs cleaning, just the basket, the insert and the inside of the lid, and unless you spill oil on the outside of the fryer, there is nothing to clean on the outer shell of the fryer. Really nice feature, being able to put the food in the basket and closing the lid prior to lowering the basket into the oil, totally eliminates the danger of hot oil burns. Very happy with our purchase.
