(United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: FRYER DEEP W/COOL ZONE This deep fryer is very attractive, easy to assemble, and so convenient with the lift-out oil container. The basket can hook in two positions, so the lid can be placed over the food in the basket before lowering it into the oil, ending splatters. The heating element actually rests in the oil (only high quality vegetable oil is recommended, but not olive or peanut oil), so the fryer requires a little more oil than usual to deep fry. This design prevents food particles from burning on the bottom of the fryer, and the heating element is easy to clean. We regularly have deep-fried cod, and the taste is restaurant quality. This fryer had the highest rating in its price range on other sites so I decided to try it. I am pleased! 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful: By DuckDodgerz "DD" (Alachua, FL) - See all my reviews This review is from: FRYER DEEP W/COOL ZONE This unit was great for the first year. It has all of the features; magnetic attachment for the cord, "cooltouch" exterior, removabe oil pan, dishwasher safe except for electronics. We used it a lot but it now won't heat above 350 degrees. We've checked it with multiple thermometers and it just doesn't heat up anymore. We'll probably replace it with a dutch oven and fry basket. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful: By Jake Bullet "Jake Bullet" (St. Louis, MO) - See all my reviews This review is from: FRYER DEEP W/COOL ZONE This fryer worked great while it lasted. After a year the interlocking electric cord would no longer connect properly, so it wouldn't turn on. After replacing the cord, the unit worked for another year and then quit working completely. Fryer handle has a tendency to keep falling in the fryer, thereby melting the plactic into a twisted horrible fashion.
