Deni 6100 Automatic 70-Watt Stainless-Steel Ice Crusher

Comment: Received my ice crusher a few days ago and I just love it. It crushes the ice in just the right size for crunching. You do have to crush the cubes one at a time but it does it quickly. I have owned others in the past to compare this to and I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a `personal' crusher to crush ice for a few glasses. This is not a professional grade machine. So if you are looking to crush mass quantities for a party or whatever, pay the $80 or more for a professional one. Personally, I use my blender for party drinks, like a margarita, you don't use crushed ice for that.

Comment: Maybe it's the ice my refrigerator makes (you know, the typical rectangular domed shaped), but all the ice would do was jump around in the machine and not crush. I tried putting fewer cubes it, did not work. Then I tried putting a lot of cubes in, still didn't work. So, for the first time ever, I returned something to Amazon. The unit is also much smaller than I thought it was. The book said it would crush about 14 oz of ice per minute. I get much faster results from my blender. I was not impressed.

Comment: After opening the box, i followed all the instructions.. washed the ice catcher and lid.. made sure there were no obstructions in the "chopping" chamber... plugged it in........ NO BLUE LIGHT.. as was told about in the instructions... altho.. there WAS a blue light when i turned on the switch... EXCEPT.. nothing happened.. re checked everything.. all was as supposed to be.. still nothing.. called customer service.. was told to call Amazon back to see about returning it... I'm 60.. been around the horn once or twice... i "banged" the unit on my granite countertop with the power switch "ON".....it came on immediately.. and everytime after that.. so i got out my cubes... about 12 of them.. the machine is VERY quiet when running without cubes.. gets a little more noisy , as you would expect with cubes inserted.. the 6100 chopped all 12 in about .. well.. less than a minute.. BUT.. i wasn't expecting such SMALL pieces.. they are smaller than BB's.... but the machine worked just great... i am drinking my crystal lite lemonade now.. and it's like drinking a lemon slurpie... but i LIKE it.....the ice is VERY chewable.. WHILE drinking the lemonade.. not having to wait until its all gone to "chew down" the larger pieces of ice, like before........ thanks Deni

Comment: I bought this to crush ice because my néw fancy French door fridge has an ice maker that doesntbcrush ice. I am addicted to crushed ice--this little guy does the trick. The process is alittle noisy, my husband thinks it should live in the garage.

Comment: This product does exactly what is says. It crushes ice nicely. I will purchase another one if the one I have ever wears out. I crush between 6-10 ice trays a day very easily.
