Product Review

Now you can have matchstick julienne carrots or cheese, a sectioned and cored apple, or a pile of neatly cut French fries in no time at all. This multi slicer features oversized non-slip handles and three slicer inserts. All you do is load the insert of choice and snap it securely to the bottom of the slicer housing, place food on a cutting board, and apply downward pressure to the handles of the slicer to push it through the food.

Amazon.com Review

This slicing gadget is a supplement to a food processor, performing slicing jobs that most food processors can’t do well with disc inserts. The tool comes with three different square stainless-steel inserts that snap into the two-handed slicer. Aligning the slicer over food and then pushing down by hand cuts the food into the desired shape. The pie-shaped insert is ideal for coring apples or pears, while the two grid-shaped inserts cut potatoes for French fries or dices other cooked vegetables in either thick or thin widths. The ergonomic handles have comfortable Santoprene grips that keep the slicer from slipping out of your hands. Inserts are all dishwasher-safe for easy cleaning. --Cristina Vaamonde

This is just junk. I purchaced this on sale, thinking that Kitchenaid was synonymous with Quality. Not this time. It balks as soon as a potato was even with the height of the blade. Being a stubborn man, I leaned on it and it started to move again. Little did I know that the metal blades were slicing through the flimsy plastic instead of the potato. The apple slicer worked much better, lasting 4 apples before breaking, instead of 1 potato. The item won't slice, but it will break. It looks very nice, so it is only suitible for giving to annoying relatives that get you cheap crap for Christmas. Don't expect to get any use out of it.

The apple corer/slicer broke (blades broke off the plastic) after the 3rd apple. Don't buy this product. Kitchenaid usually means quality - not this time.

The third time I used this slicer on an Apple, it broke apart, giving me the opportunity to see that it's construction is flimsy.
