The biggest problem with buying on-line is determining the country of origin of the products. This device is made in China, for those who want to know.

works fine... I was able to get crispy fries. I havent tried for chicken or hamburgers (yet). My main objective was to fry vegetables. It took about 10-12 minutes to get to the desired temperature and was able to maintain the temperature fairly quick once the fries was dumped into the pan. The magnetic plug is somewhat pain but all deep fryers have the same magnetic plug so there is no way going around it. If you are trying to feed more than 4-5 people or don't have time for multiple batches I suggest you try double pan fryers. This is fine for me.
