Comment: I have looked into many manufacturers before choosing this one. I purchased this based on look and feel(durability) of the product, others felt flimsy, also I did not find any other deep fryer for home use that fried a 5lb chicken whole. Heats up fast and fries very well. Cleaning? I guess like every other appliance, it's fun to use, but cleaning is a pain in the rear(not in a bad way).

Comment: This appliance is great. I've used it to make french fries and mozzarella sticks, and it worked great! The only thing is it asked for a LOT of oil (which is the nature of large fryers) that you must throw away after a couple of uses, and it's hard to clean because it has so many parts. You must clean it otherwise it smells bad.

Comment: If you are looking for a large home deep fryer, this is the one. When I saw the picture of a whole chicken being cooked, I said to myself, I have to try it.
The design is modern, does not take much space, and has a safety cord and a timer. Although it has many parts, it is easy to wash. It has a handy basket and a see through cover.
The food tastes great, and yes, you can cook a whole chicken. How fun.
Since you can cook alot of food at once, it cuts down on cooking time.
I would recommend this deep fryer to anyone, yet, be ready to use alot of oil, almost a gallon's worth.
So far, this model has been very reliable.

Summary: Huge deep fryer, and pretty! 2010-02-09
Comment: I got this fryer for my roommate because her favorite food is fried chicken. I was afraid it would be too bulky because I'm all about things being aesthetically pleasing, but it looks nice; the circular shape is nicer than a rectangle or square I think. This is a large fryer, but it isn't overpowering. Great product, definitely recommend!

UPDATE Well it has been about a year and I am looking for a new deep fryer. This fryer takes a LONG time to heat up, is VERY big & cumbersome. The cord is a pain and storage of the fryer takes up WAY TOO much space. Due to the size and amount of time it takes to clean it, I have not and will never use it for it's steam ability. Feel like I bought a commericial fryer when I was just wanting a household fryer.Unless you have a big family and deep fry alot, I would HIGHLY recommend you to keep looking instead of purchasing this one.
